Dimanche 13 mars à 19h, venez assister à la projection du film événement Jumbo Wild de Patagonia à la salle d'escalade Arkose de Montreuil en partenariat avec Hardloop.

La vallée Jumbo, terre sauvage au cœur de la Colombie-Britannique, fait l'objet d'un projet de construction d'une station de ski dans les monts Purcell. Les amoureux de la vallée se battent pour la garder sauvage et ne pas détruire ce patrimoine naturel d'exception. Le combat d'une vie raconté et illustré en 60 minutes par les équipes de Sweetgrass Productions avec le soutien de Patagonia.

Depuis 24 ans, peuples autochtones, écologistes, skieurs de randonnée et autres amoureux de ces paysages naturels s'opposent au projet touristique et se battent pour conserver la vallée Jumbo intacte. Le confort d'une station de ski ne peut être érigé au détriment de la faune et de la flore d'un habitat sauvage encore vierge.

Patagonia, engagée depuis sa création dans l'écologie, la protection de l'environnement et la lutte contre la pollution, apporte un soutien financier et médiatique à une cause qui semblait perdue d'avance face aux promoteurs et lobbyistes du tourisme hivernal. Jumbo Wild met en lumière les enjeux de la vallée et pose la question de son avenir. Combien de temps faudra-t-il encore se battre pour que la vallée Jumbo reste sauvage ?
